Any writer confused as to what people are talking about when they say they want to hear a writer's "voice" on the page, read ANY of Chuck's books! So distinctive, you know you're about to experience something unique. That's what we should all be striving for on our pages!
As far as favorite Fight Club quotes, so many! But I gotta go with either "This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time", or
Narrator: Who do you think I am?
Bartender: You're Tyler Durden. You're the one who gave me THIS.
Regarding the last phrase, in cinematic storytelling terms this exchange is just brilliant because at that moment the Narrator comes to a moment of realization that shatters everything he's ever known, thought or assumed about himself. It's literally a life changing moment, and the way the viewer gains all this knowledge is through the use of a zoom, a close-up, and the look on the face of the brilliant Ed Norton. What isn't in this scene, is a lot of dialogue.
