When writing about characters in the UK it's also VERY good to have internet friends living there, and to also watch a great deal of British TV. I could probably write something taking place in the UL with relative ease based off of what slang I know just from that. Very little of it has been assimilated into my vocabulary, simply because it would confuse the fucknuts out of most, but nevertheless...

Juno was absolutely brilliant. I remember walking out of there thinking it was the best written film I have ever seen. And really, it probably was. I mean, she did something so rare, that I don't think it's ever happened before: she one an Oscar for best screenplay on the first script she ever wrote. I mean...that's something that I could only ever dream of. And I hope I can do it somehow maybe with the one I am writing. And now I am getting off topic. So I digress...

Diablo Cody is a genius for what she accomplished.

"The Thesaurus of Slang," sounds like a MUST have for today's screenwriter. Thanks for the tip.

Diablo Cody's use of slang in "Juno" is overrated, in my opinion. IF she didn't have a great story to draw off all her ear candy wouldn't mean much.
