I can understand where Warner Brothers is coming from -- to a point! The show is based in India. I, for one, have ZERO interest in India. But this movie well so well made, it more than made up for that.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Makes you wonder want kind of contacts they're wearing.

How sad that WB could see the genius of THE DARK KNIGHT but be blind to the different yet equally laudable SLUMDOG.

A great story is a great story, and if they were at all blinded by the exotic locale of the story to the point of missing the boat, it's just bad judgment.

As humans, we don't grow if we refuse to look at other cultures and our shared struggles -- as craftsman, the inability to appreciate such diversity is a form of creative bankruptcy.

Well said, Luzid. Writing is about learning. India is so rich in stories and culture -- I fail to see how any writer could not at least take something away from it. India is as diverse and rich as Greek mythology. Most of the Greek legends are derived from India. One has to wonder if there was a trade route between Greece and India.
