I belong to the Beyond Baroque Screenwriting Workshop in Venice. You can find it on meetup.com. It's a good group. and has definitely helped my writing and critiquing skills. James Chatterton

Orange County (CA) Screenwriters on Meetup.com. We're picky about membership because a lot of times people want a critique group to "teach" them how to write a screenplay. It doesn't really work that way.

Kansas City - http://www.kcscreenwriters.com/screenwriters.htm What do you do when you've already gotten notes on a script from your local screenwriting group but aren't confident enough in it yet to enter competitions or place it on industry sites?

For the UK crowd, the London Writers' Circle is focussed around screenwriting and meets every two weeks. https://www.facebook.com/londonwriterscircle

We also have one in Galway, Ireland, currently in its 10th year. Similar to the London Writers' Circle, we focus on screenwriting (though in theory we also include playwriting, but there are currently no playwrights in the group) and meet every two weeks. Re. SoCalScriptShop's comment above, while we're not here to teach novices, we do have a range of skills from novice to pro, and the novices get enough pointers to get themselves up to speed. http://script.ie/members/writers-groups/#galway

I've just read that the screenwriting group is closed due to lack of participation. What does the 'practice' group stand for?

Pay for professional development notes, enter a contest that gives feedback, enroll in an online class like the Pro Series from ScreenwritingU.com that uses a forum for feedback or join Talentville. There are so many options.

Screenwriters Circle in Sarasota, Fl. I've been moderating for over 10 years. It was started in 2001 by the Sarasota Film Fest. We're on facebook as Sarasota Screenwriters and network with ManaSota Films, a group for anyone who makes indie films. Many of us are grads of the ProSeries and Masters in Screenwriting programs at ScreenwritingU.com.
