Boy I fought this one for years. "But...but my art...outlines strangle my voice...I'll bet Orson Welles didn't outline Kane!!!" That was all well and cute but I seldom got to type the words THE END or FADE OUT. If this were college, I would have regularly received an "I" for "Incomplete." These days I outline religiously. And I have all sorts of COMPLETED drafts to show for it (whether those drafts are quality or not is a conversation for another day...) Listen to Papa Scott. Shut up and outline your damned scripts, people. (Oh and I later learned that Orson Welles meticulously outlined Kane...whoops.)
