Here are a few thoughts. Hook (1991) Writers: J.M. Barrie, (books, play) James V. Hart, (screen story, screenplay) Nick Castle, (screen story) Malia Scotch Marmo, (screenplay) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6hmQwfEmzc RUFIO: You are the Pan. (Peter takes the proffered sword, steps back and draws a line in the sand. All the Lost Boys gather behind him.) RUFIO: (Standing) You can fly. You can fight, but you can't-- (Peter begins crowing, soon joined by all the boys, and eventually Rufio.) Dialog on Dialog: Not a retelling of the Peter Pan story but a continuation to answer the question: what happened after Peter grew up? This scene is the moment of transformation, after Peter Panning goes through a long and discouraging deconstruction to finally re-emerge as the legendary Peter Pan, ready to face Captain Hook one last time.

It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963) Writers: William Rose & Tania Rose https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLvirwPClas MEYER: I wish I knew what they were gonna do to us. But no matter what happens to us, what happens to you I hope will be worse. CAPTAIN CULPEPPER: I don't think you have to worry too much about that. My wife is divorcing me. My mother-in-law is suing me for damages. My daughter is applying to the courts to have her name changed. My pension has been revoked. And the only reason you that ten idiots will very likely get off lightly is because the judge will have me up there to throw the book at. THIRD CAB DRIVER: Aww, that’s tough. CAPTAIN CULPEPPER: I'd like to think that sometime, maybe ten or twenty years from now, there'd be something I could laugh at. Anything. (Benjy Benjamin tosses a banana peel onto the floor in the middle of the hospital beds.) (The wives come marching down the hospital corridor and storm into the room.) MRS. MARCUS: Now see here you idiots! It's all your fault! Because if you hadn't--oh! (She slips on the banana peel and goes down. The room explodes in laughter, with Captain Culpepper finally joining in.) Dialog on Dialog: A contingent of average citizens become a reckless mob in search of buried treasure in this wild comedy. The film is a study in how greed and the promise of wealth can corrupt everyone, even a police captain. In the final scene of the film, despair turns to laughter as the stereotypical mother-in-law goes down in one of the oldest gags in comedy: the banana peel.

Short Circuit (1986) Writers: S.S. Wilson, Brent Maddock https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7wj3bB6OU4 STEPHANIE: What's the matter? Is he laughing? CROSBY: Yeah, yeah, and the joke wasn't even that funny, and I think I screwed up the punch line. NUMBER 5: Whatever God wants, He keeps! STEPHANIE: Well, you look kinda shook up. CROSBY: Yeah. It's really true. Spontaneous emotional response! Dialog on Dialog: Originally designed as a military weapon, Number 5 (later known as Johnny 5) meets Stephanie after an accident changes his circuitry and grows to become self-aware. Meanwhile, the military and Number 5's designer, Newton Crosby, search doggedly to retrieve the expensive and secret robot. Stephanie has tried to convince Crosby that Number 5 is sentient, but the pure, logical scientist Crosby refuses to believe, until he's kidnapped and forced to interact directly with Number 5 and he can't come to any other conclusion than the one he can't accept: Number 5 is alive!
