There are plenty of movies like all of these. She's just whoring for retweets. I'm not sure why this is noteworthy...

If screenwriting truly is an art then it's perfectly okay to ignore any social justice warrior and create whatever you please.

The most favorited and retweeted tweet in Katherine's rant is this one.

A note about the Twitter Rants: They are what they are: Screenwriters expressing their opinions about the business and the craft of screenwriting in Hollywood. I may or may not agree with all or some of what they say, however if I think they will contribute to a larger conversation which can in turn inspire writers to tell stories that are more about their own voice and less about trying to fit into a formula, on the whole I think that's a good thing... which is one reason I started aggregated and archiving them on the blog. So if you are into violent genre pieces, great. Write that. If you are into G-rated family movies, write that. Science fiction spectacles where stuff blows up every 5 minutes, write that. I'm all for diversity when it comes to movies. In fact, we NEED more diversity to tap into and explore the boundless possibilities that exist with stories. It's just good to be reminded that it's 'perfectly okay' for each of us to write whatever it is we find creatively compelling and believe audiences will find entertaining.
