Can we all just agree that no one in Hollywood articulates the human condition better than David Fincher when he's speaking? Say what you will about his films (I say all good things!), but when he talks he just sprays bon mots and incredible insights not just about film, but about people and they way they are. "Screaming speculation" is great. The dude is just fascinating every time he opens his mouth. Thanks for posting.

Chris, he is creating quite an opus of movies, and almost all of them are smack in the middle of what the major studios don't like to make: Adult dramas / thrillers with relatively big budgets for those type of movies ($50-75M). The fact they trust Fincher with those movies is a testament to his brilliance as a filmmaker. Also like this: He tends to work with one writer per project. Gone Girl is his biggest opening movie yet. Hopefully it will roll on to big B.O. so Hwood will be more open to these type of sophisticated, compelling and entertaining movies.
