Hey Scott, or anyone... What's your view on defining Sci-Fi? My last 3 scripts have very intelligent Chemists, Biologists, Scientists, etc. that do some things that we as a society, at the present time, are not capable of. It's Science that's Fiction. But I've always viewed Sci-Fi as "In the Future," "A.I.," Intelligent Robots," "Space Travel," and all that kind of stuff. I'm always hesitant to label my stuff Action/Sci-Fi because I don't want to give the reader the wrong impression. Thoughts???

Absolutely!

For example, should fictional science films like Rise of the Planet of the Apes" and "Splice" be in the same category/genre as true Sci-Fi films like "Blade Runner" and "Star Wars?" Doesn't seem right, to me.

Maybe it's time to start a new genre: Fi-Sci (Fictional Science).
