I'm not native english, but I would like to try (maybe a few more seconds of spell checking for you). I would pick Harold and Maude.
Debbie Moon at 2014-08-28 18:55:47:
I'd love to do Three Days Of The Condor...
Scott at 2014-08-28 19:33:41:
Thomas and Debbie, I'm pressed for time, will divvy out creative juju later, but yes, to Harold and Maude, and Three Days of the Condor. Both fantastic movies. Thanks!
Karla McNeese at 2014-08-28 19:45:27:
I'd love to tackle Murder by Death.
cilly247 at 2014-08-28 20:27:35:
I would love to do Close Encounters.
Scott at 2014-08-28 20:56:59:
Great, Karla and cilly247: Murder by Death and Close Encounters it is, and thanks. Back for creative juju after I'm done with this thing. Both memorable 70s movies!
Mark Twain at 2014-08-29 00:00:14:
I would like to do The Parallax View, the 1974 Alan J. Pakula film starring Warren Beatty.
Scott at 2014-08-29 01:50:23:
Mark, great movie: The Parallax View. Thanks. And creative juju for you: THRILLAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!

Hello Scott, I would love to write about "Taxi Driver"
Scott at 2014-08-29 03:37:24:

chriscaleo at 2014-08-29 05:07:51:
I would like to tackle BEING THERE.
rich_trenholm at 2014-08-29 07:49:49:
Being from the UK, I'd love to add a British movie to the list - and it doesn't get more British than Bond. The Man with the Golden Gun isn't the best in the series but from a writing perspective it has a fantastic central character triangle - plus the film's attitudes to sex and race couldn't be more 1970s. Alternatively, a great British movie from the era that I've got a lot to say about is Nicholas Roeg's Performance, which marries the gangster movie with Mick Jagger to kill off the myth of the "Swinging 60s."
chriscaleo at 2014-08-29 09:36:37:
Performance is such a great film. Memo from Turner.
Greg Scharpf at 2014-08-29 11:13:26:
Hi Scott, if you're still looking for more I'd love to tackle SHAMPOO. Thanks, Greg
Will King at 2014-08-29 11:53:59:
If there is still room, I would like to offer Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970)
Scott at 2014-08-29 12:06:36:
Chris, so glad someone picked Being There as it's one of my favorites. Thanks! Creative juju coming your way: GALAGALAGALAGALOOOMP!
Scott at 2014-08-29 12:08:37:
Rich, Performance would be great, but it does seem like we ought to have a Bond movie, and I think you're right: Golden Gun is a great example of 70s attitudes, so a good selection. Thanks and here's some creative juju for you? MYNAMEISBONDJAMESBONDORAMADINGDONG!
Scott at 2014-08-29 12:10:11:
Greg, Shampoo absolutely deserves to be included. There were a number of great social satires in the 70s, this among them. Also great to have a Robert Towne script repped. Thanks and creative juju on the way! SHAMPOOODLEDOODLEOHYEAAAAAHHHH!!!
Scott at 2014-08-29 12:13:26:
Will, you stumped me with this one, never even HEARD of it, but checked it out on IMDB and it's got good reviews. And we need another sci-fi film in addition to Alien. I also run a Hidden Gems series of which this could be a part, but I think it can work here, especially if you think this is a movie people SHOULD watch. As for me, I've put it on my to-watch list thanks to your recommendation. Thanks and here is some creative juju for you! REORAORELLIORUMPUSROO!!!
Steve Huerta at 2014-08-29 12:25:19:
Hi Scott! I'd like to give "The Getaway" a shot for this project. Sam Peckinpah, Walter Hill in his early days from a Jim Thompson novel. Steve McQueen and Ali MacGraw. What d'you say?
Scott at 2014-08-29 12:37:21:
Great choice, Steve. Doesn't get more 70s iconic than Steve McQueen. Plus Walter Hill and Jim Thompson? Works for me. Thanks! Creative juju comin' at ya! MCMACMCMACMCMACMCQUEEEENMACGRAWONTHEDRAW!!!
MichaelSWaters at 2014-08-29 14:04:33:
If you haven't reached 30 yet I'll take The Sting (1973) Michael
Arnaud Talaia at 2014-08-29 15:35:47:
Hi Scott ! I'm new on the comment side of the site and I'd like to make a mindful contribution to thank you for the time and effort that you put into GITS for newcomer gits like me! :) I've just rewatched "All the President's Men" : do you have a slot available for it ? I can send you my review for review tonight. What email address shall I send it to ?
Scott at 2014-08-29 16:00:40:
Arnaud, sure, we can add All the President's Men to the list. Email: GITSblog at gmail dot com. Thanks!
Scott at 2014-08-29 16:02:30:
Michael, The Sting would be an excellent addition. For years when I would go into meetings, it seemed like that movie came up a lot: "Do you have anything like The Sting"? Thanks! Creative juju your way: STINGADINGALINGOHOHOHO!!!
