Scott, my son was watching an old Tom and Jerry cartoon the other day where Tom inherits a large sum of money and goes to live in a fancy apartment in NY. Jerry follows of course. There is one hiccup, in order to keep the money, Tom must never harm any living creature, not even a mouse. You can imagine how it ends up. Funny antics. This whole Leona thing and money to the dogs has just been overly done. It was done better decades ago even in cartoons, and it will be so very overdone now. I hope no one comes up with a script for it. I really do.

I hear you. But Hwood has a tendency to push the boundaries of "overdone" because they almost always would rather produce a movie that is 'similar but different' than something utterly fresh, new, and unique. That said, they're always looking for writers who have a distinctive voice and exhibit great writing, so there's always room for creative writers in Hwood.

Re dog movies, there are at least two to be released this year: Hotel for Dogs and Bolt, the former a live-action movie, the latter animation.

BTW, I remember that Tom & Jerry cartoon, another source of slapstick humor my youngest fell in love with a few years back, so of course, I recorded them all.
