[…] Thirty years in, Harvey Weinstein knows the distribution business. While he’s a wily theatrical animal who knows when to spend big on a wide release and when to dump a movie, he took a radical route with Bong Joon-ho’s action adventure “Snowpiercer,” starring Chris Evans and Tilda Swinton, seizing the chance to …read more […]

VOD is how I saw it almost the second it was available. I'd heard mention of it a while ago and then again just recently on Twitter. The word was good, and so I watched it... and the word was GOOOOOOD! I pimped it out to as many people as possible and they all love it, too. Even people who thought they wouldn't dig it (not their genre) thought it was great. I'll admit, the actors were a big draw for me. Tilda was my initial draw and Chris Evans has kinda grown on me (he seems to be hilarious in person) and Jaimie Bell and John Hurt, etc... It's not to say the concept and visuals didn't look appealing on its own because it was, but the actors and word of mouth sealed the deal. As a consumer I LOVE the VOD option. More importantly, as a mom who doesn't get out much but loves movies, I LOVE this option. I've watched a few "in theater" releases this way and I absolutely love the convenience and access of it. Plus, it's me eating my own junk food, sipping vino, and not having to worry about parking or a sitter, or worrying about a +1 on kookie movies that might not appeal to many other people. THIS MEANS I SEE MORE MOVIES MORE OFTEN! Win! Such a good movie! I can't shut up about it. I'm glad it's doing well in reviews and write-ups.
