There was a Martin Short vehicle with this sorta premise in 1991, called PURE LUCK. I guess we're about due for an update.

That was my immediate thought, too. "This man's been hit by lightning twice... once while in a movie theater!"

For protag's past, dumped by two girlfriends, two road accidents but survived, got his two fathers ( one step father) died. Now he is under some phobias. this 2 thing is hitting him badly. Hmm. His date of birth is 2-2-1982. It contains three two's and according to numerology when you reduce 1982 it again gives you 2. He gets locked in a lift at 2nd floor. He's assulated two times by the same man mistakenly, Bitten twice by his pet scorpio...and so on... I think its a different way to look at it. From here we can develop a story. This 2's phobia is haunting him

I thought of "Unbreakable".

DSI, that brings to mind Edge of Tomorrow, the somewhat overlooked, but excellent science fiction movie from last summer: "An alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world. Major William Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop-forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again...and again." Also Groundhog Day.

I'm a Martin Short fan (from his SCTV days), but I don't remember this movie at all: "The daughter of a wealthy businessman has disappeared in Mexico, and all the efforts to find her have been unsuccessful. A psychologist, knowing that the girl has an ultra bad luck, persuades her father to send to Mexico one of his employees, an accountant with super bad luck, to find her. Perhaps he will be lucky, and his bad luck could help to find the unlucky girl..." That sounds like such an 80s movie! Developed in the 80s, shot in 1990, released in 1991.

And you can call it "Duality".

Unbreakable: "A security guard named David Dunn is coming home from work, when the train he is on is suddenly derailed, the train crashes, and he is the sole survivor, out of 132 people. Without a scratch on his body. Soon he is contacted by comic-book store owner Elijah Price whose bones are easily breakable, who claims David is a superhero." Seems like there are a lot of movies involving characters with either extremely good luck... or bad luck.
