Maybe, but as far as the novel world, half the books I read this year are from female authors... there are some heavyweight female writers in the novel game that if they entered the screenwriting world, they'd wipe the floor with the competition. A different topic, but I'm not sure where to click back to find the previous blog on questions. I read about the Joe Eszterhas/Mel Gibson meltdown... and it got me to thinking... are there certain attitudes and habits that writers should have that would better their career. I'm sure the meltdown shows what not to do even if you were the hottest selling scribe.... I'm sure many will get by on natural talent but it's still would be nice to develop habits that would keep yourself from getting in the way of yourself.

What I'm curious about is the genre breakdown among male and female writers, and in the spec market. Is there a correlation?
