I like a certain kind of rom-com, more com than rom. Some of my favorites: The Goodbye Girl, When Harry Met Sally, Some Like It Hot, It Happened One Night - and if I go further back, I'll be dating myself -- which, I believe, is illegal in this state.

Are you familiar with Billy Mernit? He's written the book on the rom-com genre - literally. The book is called "Writing the Romantic Comedy". I've recommended it to my students for years now. I'll be pimping Billy's book and website in the next week or so.
