wow - this is the first script i've heard of that seems to directly reflect the "graying" of america. i've always wondered if we'd start seeing films (either theatrically or in the ancillary markets) being geared towards older audiences and the massive baby boomer generation that's starting to find time on it's hands.

It never ceases to amaze me how Hwood has avoided Baby Boomers and older crowd. The largest single demo group in the US, most discretionary income, only demo groups to actually increase number of movie tickets purchased in the 90s - every other group was flat or decreased. Perhaps you're right and maybe this is the first in a trend. We'll have to track that.

There was a German film from 4 or so years ago about a hitman with Alzheimer's. The reviews were good, and I believe the plot (I didn't see it) had the hitman refusing an assignment, and so has to outrun both his angry mob bosses and the cops. I think it was called "Memory of a Hitman" or "Memory of a Killer" or something similar.

Anyway, throw in "Away From Her" by Sarah Polley, and the Alzheimer's train may have left the station.

ah right - i'd completely forgotten about that film 'memory of a killer' (or it's original 'de zaak alzheimer'). it sounded interesting but i never saw it. it's a belgium film.

Wow, you guys rock! Pulling out obscure Belgium Alzheimer's movies! Clearly, neither of you guys will be suffering from memory loss anytime soon!
