They have the scoop, apparently it's true!

I love Shane Black, we all loved Lethal Weapon 1 (maybe 2), Last Boy Scout, I even liked Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. However, if I were Shane Black. at this time in my career, I'd be leery of looking like (alliteration) I was recalling past glories.

BTW: thank you so much for responding to my blog post at 'potential is a muscle' and for linking to me! I think you might be interested in this post from last month:

i loved 'lethal weapon,' but two was a big step down and the rest were godawful. as for "leery of looking like i was recalling past glories" - what else does he have?

except for kkbb, lethal weapon is the only good thing he ever wrote. and i think kkbb was only possible because he disappeared for a decade or so and figured some things out.

Shane Black ROCKS. Let him write, as he sees fit. The guy's earned that right. I have NO PROBLEM with the fact he can get away with stuff the rest of us can't. BUT also realize most writers would never try to put that snarfy stuff in their scripts to begin with.

Go "Leathal Weapon 5!" I hope Shane manages to park that one out of the ballpark.
