Moneyball: INT. CLUB HOUSE LOCKER ROOM - NIGHT Billy lets himself out and walks down the hall to the locker room - regards Jeremy Giambi - JEREMY Yeah! He's not even aware of Billy. It's just like any other night as far as Jeremy Giambi is concerned. He dances to a CD of funk music as he dresses, until he becomes aware of Billy standing there, and smiling, he kills the music. JEREMY (NERVOUS LAUGH) What? BILLY Getting swept by the Red Sox at home. Having Long lead off the ninth with triple in a one-run game and not being able to score a runner from first with nobody out, is that fun? JEREMY No. BILLY Then what the fuck are you having fun for?! (CALMLY) This is what losing sounds like. He heads out. Video: http://youtu.be/XJ_kOi-lHFI I think it serves as one of the most powerful sports speeches ever. And it's not the dialogue alone. It's the context. It's the action and the acting all around. It's the situation of having lost. At this moment, not before the game, Billy has the greatest opportunity to illustrate to the players the reality of the situation and where they are failing in not taking it seriously.

I don't know if this counts, but... ROCKY (1976) written by: Sylvester Stallone Mickey: I'm here to warn ya, that ya gotta be very careful about this shot that you got at the title. Because, like the Bible sez, you ain't gonna get a second chance... Well, what ya need is a manager. A manager, listen to me. I know, because I've been in this racket for fifty years... I've seen it all, all of it. Ya know what I've done?... I have done it all... [He holds a bare lightbulb in front of his face] I've got twenty-one stitches over this left eye. I've got thirty-four stitches over this eye. Do ya know that I had my nose busted seventeen times?... [He glances at Rocky's poster of Rocky Marciano] Ya kinda remind me of the Rock, ya know that?... Ya move like him, ya got heart like he did... I got all this knowledge, I got it up here now, I wanna give it to you... I wanna take care of ya, I wanna make sure that all this shit that happened to me doesn't happen to you... Ya can't buy what I'm gonna give ya. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SDJj9yyqds Such an awesome speech. Mickey is completely humbled, a shell of what we witnessed earlier, offering his services.
