I find it disturbing that most of the time when screenwriters want to display interracial relationships or a diverse group of friends they always choose a colored man with a caucasian woman over something else. It doesn't come to their mind that a good educated white man could fall in love with a dark woman or that the good educated succesful colored man could prefer a dark woman or another ethnicity. Since most screenwriters are caucasian we see their love interest and social circle reflected in their writing choices. In their point of view, blondes and caucasian women are interesting to ANY man but not dark ones. Screenwriters, look around and change your paradigm. The world is diverse and so should be the relationships you reflect whether they are friendly or romantically.

Shari, interesting observation. Being a white male, I had no heightened awareness of this, but assuming it's true, and even if it weren't, I completely concur with your point: "The world is diverse and so should be the relationships you reflect whether they are friendly or romantically." Makes for more interesting stories, too!
