Read the story... haven't seen the movie and don't believe I ever will.

By-the-by... when Angelina Jolie emerges from the pool inside the cave and then approaches Beowulf-- is she wearing high heels??

Nice legs, but takes me right out of the story.

Perhaps one of the reasons you're not inclined to see the movie is due to Hwood's 'creative' process as described by the movie's co-writer Neil Gaiman here.

I felt more amused than engaged - looked like R18 Barbie to me (I have to watch all those Barbie flicks 'cos of the kids, so I know my Barbie.)

But would be really interesting to hear some specifics from Neil Gaiman re: the script.
