Hi Scott, I remember getting added last year or the year before. I see it's there now, so thanks for whenever that happened. So far so good with the writing. It's draining, to be sure, and I know I'm not getting the the best prep work in -- which is why I'm selecting ideas I've been rolling around for a few years -- but I just start the 4th script this week, so I'm still on target. The nice thing about forcing myself to move to a new script each month is I can forget the previous months' scripts a lot easier and faster. Plus, I have to write the pages or else I let myself (and my minute blog readership) down. But with writing almost every day since February (I actually finished a script before taking on this challenge) I have seen a substantial improvement in my writing. And I was pretty good to begin with -- at least, I have two scripts under option with different independent producers, so I would think I was pretty good. Anyhow, your mantra -- write pages, read scripts, watch movies -- has been my model for the 12 in 12: I'm writing about 25-30 script pages a week, reading 3-4 scripts a week, and (big props to Netflix Instant and Amazon Instant) watching 5-7 movies a week. Hey guys, Like yourselves, I am trying to climb the walls of screenwriting. I haven't broken in just yet but I'm enjoying the struggle if that makes sense. I've been working in the TV industry for over 10 years now (got past the supposed 7 year mark with ease) My scripts last year were fortunate enough to place in some festivals including two 2nd Rounders in Austin. Hi I'm Hermione, I write a blog at: wildfiremovies.wordpress.com, which is still in it's infancy. I am currently working on feature screenplays (during my work hours, so I'm really lucky) and have one in the running in the Nichol Fellowship this year. I have won a few awards for my work, which is really encouraging. I also am about to hit the funding trail for an animation called The Library of Lost Objects, about two children left for safe keeping during a war in a dystopian future, in a huge labyrinth of catalogued objects which people have left behind. As they see that no one returns for these beloved objects, they wonder if their parents will ever return for them... If you're curious there's a little more about it on my website. Hi I'm Nick, 31 UK. Long-time lurker, occasional commenter. I wrote my first (and currently only finished) feature about 5 years ago. I banged it out over one Christmas week. I just got up at 9 every day and didn't leave the keyboard until five. Re-reading it I can see the mistakes I've made, but I'm still really proud of just getting it done. Since then I've made one short film: https://vimeo.com/66926980 Again, I don't think much of it now, but I'm still really glad I managed to just finish it, as it was a nightmare in post production. A lot of the mistakes I made we made prior to filming, and were due to the script just not being ready. The main issue is that I understood what was going on, but that doesn't necessarily translate to the audience knowing what is going on. Since then I've done another small 1 minute film (a breeze by comparison) for a film competition, and have maintained my own film website as well.
