Hello Scott! I like your blog for today. I do read every blog,but don't comment often. I do think it's very important to have the prep work together for your next screenplay. I would love to join your class, but I can't afford it, unfortunately. Hopefully, in the future you can blog about a couple tips and expand on them?

Krystol, thanks for your comment. As to your question, there are over 14,000 posts on the blog, and if you do a Google search of the site with these words: "prep writing". I'm sure you'll find dozens of posts with information that can help you. Here's a start: There are 7 key questions I start the prep process with: Who is my Protagonist? What does s/he/it Want (Conscious Goal)? What does s/he/it Need (Unconscious Goal)? Who/what opposes the Protagonist in advancing toward their goal? What is the resolution of Want and Need? What does the Protagonist fear the most? Why does THIS story HAVE to happen to THIS character at THIS time? If you use those questions to dig into your Protagonist and their circumstances, you will have gone a LONG way toward zeroing in on the spine of your story. Good luck with the writing!
