I believe there's time travel in a Harry Potter movie, but since I haven't seen them all, I couldn't point out the scene. There's also time travel in The Butterfly Effect, Galaxy Quest, Star Trek 2009, Star Trek IV, Star Trek First Contact, and of course, X-Men Days Of Future Past, which i think the explanation is in a promo clip that's online, but if not, maybe someone here will run to the theater with a pencil and paper to scribble it down. I believe I would like to write up the time travel dialogue from "Hot Tub Time Machine" just as a flimsy pretext to watch that movie again.

I love this romantic comedy spin on the time travel genre via Brad Anderson's underrated 2000 indie HAPPY ACCIDENTS (exchange pasted from IMDb). It imparts a valid lesson of screwball humor applied in a scene that otherwise might've been too cliched and/or overly dramatic plus it's beautifully played by Marisa Tomei & Vincent D'Onofrio: Sam Deed: I'm not from Dubuque. Ruby: Okay, you're not from Dubuque. So where are you from then? Sam Deed: Dubuque. Ruby: [screams] Sam Deed: I'm not from Dubuque in the way you think I'm from Dubuque. Ruby: Well, how many ways can you be from Dubuque? Sam Deed: I'm not from *your* Dubuque. Ruby: My Dubuque? Since when is Dubuque mine. I've never even been to Ohio! Sam Deed: Iowa. Ruby: Whatever! Sam Deed: Look, I'm just saying that my Dubuque is different from your Dubuque. Ruby: How? Sam Deed: It doesn't exist. Ruby: You just said it's in Io-ho. Sam Deed: Iowa! Ruby: So *your* Dubuque doesn't exist. Sam Deed: Yet. Ruby: Yet? Sam Deed: Yet! Ruby: Yet? Sam Deed: Yet! Ruby: So when will your Dubuque exist? Sam Deed: ...2470 AD. That's in 471 years - from now. (Note: couldn't find video clip save for a link I'm having trouble viewing that *might* be it: http://www.spike.com/video-clips/oilgq9/happy-accidents-clip-dubuque-iowa-or-idaho)

Back to the Future (1985) written by: Robert Zemeckis, Bob Gale [Dr. Emmett Brown is doubting Marty McFly's story about that he is from the future] Dr. Emmett Brown: Then tell me, future boy, who's President of the United States in 1985? Marty McFly: Ronald Reagan. Dr. Emmett Brown: Ronald Reagan? The actor? [chuckles in disbelief] Dr. Emmett Brown: Then who's vice president? Jerry Lewis? [rushing out and down a hill toward his laboratory] Dr. Emmett Brown: I suppose Jane Wyman is the First Lady! Marty McFly: [following Doc] Whoa. Wait, Doc! Dr. Emmett Brown: And Jack Benny is secretary of the treasury. Marty McFly: [outside the lab door] Doc, you gotta listen to me. Dr. Emmett Brown: [opens the door to the lab] I've had enough practical jokes for one evening. Good night, future boy! [closes the door leaving Marty outside] Marty McFly: No, wait, Doc. Doc. The-the-the bruise on your head, I know how that happened. You told me the whole story. You were standing on your toilet and you were hanging a clock, and you fell and you hit your head on the sink. And that's when you came up with the idea for the flux capacitor... which is what makes time travel possible. [Doc opens the door and looks at Marty with a stunned look on his face] The scene and subsequent dialog is great because Marty's got to convince the man who invented time travel that he will one day invent time travel. And Doc, incredulous to the whole story (at first) adds to the ridiculous notion of being presented with that fact.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) Written by: JK Rowling (Novel), Steve Kloves (screenplay) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjPb3ziyYYo DUMBLEDORE: By the way, when in doubt, I find retracing my steps to be a wise place to begin... Good luck. He smiles, exits. Harry glances curiously at the chocolate. RON: What in bloody hell was all that about? But Hermione doesn't reply, instead looping the long chain around Harry's neck as well as her own. HERMIONE: Sorry, Ron. But seeing as you can't walk... As Ron and Harry exchange a curious glance, the BELL continues to CHIME -- DING! DING! -- and... INT. HOSPITAL WING - TIME REVERSAL - NIGHT/LATE AFTERNOON TIME reverses in a dizzying backward blur as if a tape were being rewound, every moment that occurred in the hospital room flickering by at a dizzying speed while, outside the window, darkness gives way to dusk and the sun 'un-sets', returning to its place low on the horizon. At this point, the TIME REVERSAL ends and the room is... Empty. Except for Harry and Hermione. As Hermione unloops the necklace, Harry glances around in confusion. HARRY: What just happened? Where's Ron? Hermione ignores the question, eyes the CLOCK on the wall. HERMIONE: Seven-thirty. Where were you at seven-thirty? Takeaway: When the situation is incredibly dire, Harry and Hermione travel back in time - a movie in a world of magic - what is more magical than to be able to travel back and change time? Don't we all wish we could do that and fix the mistakes of our past?
