Great interview thus far Scott. It's interesting -- I'm sort of in the same place Geoff was before he started. I just graduated a year ago, have been floating (aka, traveling and working) and also worked in the lawn-care business. I watch movies religiously, write all the time, read (script blogs, books, magazines) like crazy, but the one thing I don't do is read scripts. I guess I just figure if I'm going to read prose I want to read well-written literature, but I know that if I truly want to be a screenwriter I need to start reading scripts instead. It's tough, being that I love fiction so much. So, my plan is to move to L.A. and land a job as a scriptreader, that way I can kill two birds with one stone. Here's to lookin' at you Geoff!

Kalen - Holy shit, that's uncanny. Especially the lawn care thing. WARNING: if you keep up like me you're going to gain 50 lbs. QUIT WHILE YOU'RE AHEAD. And I can't stress this enough: you have the right idea, so start reading scripts NOW. I got out here probably having read 100 or so, which wasn't near enough, but luckily I'm an amazing bullshitter so I faked my way through my job until I knew what I was doing. Not saying you couldn't, just saying you don't need to. There are lots of great resources out there, but my favorite was always http://www.script-o-rama.com. Hopefully it's still there or that link ain't gonna work. Good luck!
