what if our protagonist need to take a special mineral on daily basis for medical reasons, that is only found in costly fruits. He becomes a chef to find an easy way to get his daily dose of natural minerals. Soon, he is encountered with a newly appointed female restaurant manager who looks out for daily shortage of the special fruits. As soon as she finds it, she would let him go in exchange of sharing the same fruits with her because she's cursed by a witch and the rebuttal is only possible if for the next 90 days she would spell a magic keeping these special fruits within the circle of magic. End could be anything.

Wow, that is some wild brainstorming! Magic, witchcraft, special fruit. Why not?! Sometimes the best stories are the most surprising ones.

DSI, it's The Brother From Another Planet meets Klute... meets Caligula!

You know, you could play with this a bit... I keep thinking of this movie called Doctor Detroit, where Dan Aykroyd plays this nerdy college lit professor who's coerced into pretending to be a pimp. I can see that happening here, where the alien's disguise is the pimp to a small gang of girls. I recently re-watched this Feminist Frequency video where the host goes on about games where women are just non-playable sex objects that you can do whatever to, and how that sort of dehumanization is viewed as empowering, and this movie premise might be an interesting way to shine light on that, explore it, etc, because all that awful stuff would suddenly have to be justified and it's real hard to do it. Plus this way the girls have agency, they're the ones who find the alien, they come up with the plan, they teach him what it's like to be an "earth man" and in turn, the alien teaches the earth men what it's like to be truly civilized.

This has me thinking of an episode of Futurama where Bender becomes a hobo and finds out this chef he adored is also homeless... I'm blanking on the names, but the famous chef teaches Bender new techniques in order to one-up the famous Emeril-like chef that disgraced the two of them. I can see something like that happening, where our guy, the famous restaurant chef, has to do community service or something and winds up getting inspired by the people on the street, it's not just enough that he gives them a window into the food and lifestyle of the upper class (how great would it be to have a scene with all these downtrodden folks in one of the fanciest restaurants in New York, or a grand hotel ballroom?), but they also push him back, inspire him to make new dishes, make his stuff more accessible, teach him the value of your first hot meal in days, etc. What really makes movies like The Mighty Ducks work is that everyone in the story benefits and changes from their experiences, Bombay doesn't just help out the kids, the kids turn him back into a genuine human being... using the same game that drove those instincts out of him. The first movie is real personal, that's why the sequels aren't as beloved. So we definitely need that kind of thing happening here.

Something along the lines of, say, No Reservations meets Practical Magic? A modern day witch (and warlock?) working in a kitchen together? That could be real fun. There used to be movies with witches once upon a time, I wonder why that stopped. It seems like it could be due for a revival. Plus, you can have this romantic thing, maybe a witch loses her power when she falls in love with a man or gets married or loses her virginity, so there's a real weight to the whole thing, she has to choose between the two (or better, choose between the person she is when she's in love and is in the real world vs the person she is when she's in the magical world).
