So DSI, the working methodology here appears to be a crazy mashup. My standard joke on this is to put anything with the movie Caligula. For example: "It's Bambi meets Caligula." Or "It's When Harry Met Sally meets Caligula." I would say that's simply a way to come up with funny / dumb ideas. But then there's this... Thanks for your dumb ideas. Never know. One of 'em might be so dumb... it's smart!

Scott, That is exactly the methodology. I created a piece of software to mashup movie titles, with some genre sorting functionality, specifically for creating ideas. I usually use it first thing in the morning as my wife is getting ready for work, and some of them would make me laugh. I would then concoct a quick logline and pitch it to my wife to make her laugh. After reading the story about the guys who do the Modern Seinfeld twitter acct. I decided to start posting the dumb ones to make my friends laugh. It's also a great exercise to create a funny logline in 140 characters. -Steve

All I can think of is something like Mouse Hunt. And I liked Mouse Hunt, I don't recall it doing pretty well, and that was a movie that was done as well as it could be and had the right people in all the right places (Gore Verbinski directing, Nathan Lane, Christopher Walken) ... anything less is, well, Furry Vengeance. And now that I think about it, I can't think of one crazy little animal movie that people talk about, does anyone remember Over The Hedge? Would anyone even remember the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies if they hadn't invented the word "squeakquel?" Maybe this isn't a whole story in itself, maybe it's an incident in a larger story, like the cat electrocuting itself in Christmas Vacation.
