While the gender swap model has been used a lot for comedic purposes, I would go for a full out drama. A reporter from the BBC goes undercover as a burka wearing woman to Taliban controlled Afghanistan prior to the US invasion of 2001. His aim is to expose the reality behind the Taliban rule. What he finds is not the mad fanatics portrayed by the media, but proud simple people struggling to surviving against increasing odds. Of course, his cover is blown which results in his kidnapping, torture, an international incident, a daring rescue from his Afghan friends and the final escape to Uzbekistan. Based on the real life story of a reporter I just made up.
