Uh, same, but different?

They do realize Towering Inferno was based off 2 separate books that were both about getting trapped in skyscrapers on fire. They were so similar they folded them into 1 movie.

AND...

Isn't the big catch with the Disaster film genre the DISASTER -- not really the plot or even the characters (because they are all inter-changeable anyway?)

You know like -- going about your business when an EARTHQUAKE! hits, or when a fire traps everyone in a skyscraper, or, you know, the Titanic hits an iceberg.
