Scott, I'd love to write about Clueless if no one else has claimed it!
Scott at 2014-04-10 21:29:41:
It's all yours, Sarah! Great call. I met Amy Heckerling. Terrific talent.
Sarah Grimes at 2014-04-10 22:06:52:
Wonderful! Clueless is, without a doubt, my favorite teen comedy of all time! And I agree about Amy Heckerling. She's a great writer and director. I haven't seen every movie she's written or directed, but the ones I have seen, I've loved.
blueneumann at 2014-04-11 01:39:11:
You know what? How about I do a write-up for Leon/The Professional? I need an excuse to watch it again.
Scott at 2014-04-11 01:57:28:
Great idea. Reminds me I should watch it again myself. I'll also bet many readers haven't seen it, so maybe your post can lure them to watch it.
blueneumann at 2014-04-11 04:40:00:
That seems unlikely. But if it's true, then it's something that needs to be rectified. I also feel like The Fifth Element should be on the list, since it's sort of a sister film to Leon (at least, I've always perceived it as such). Although it's so out there, it really doesn't belong to one era or one culture like any other film on the list. Maybe it belongs in a sci-fi movie month instead.
Jonathan Melikidse at 2014-04-11 05:48:29:
Scott, I would happily write on The Big Lewbowski. I can watch that film a million times.
Dean Scott at 2014-04-11 09:23:34:
I would love to do The Shawshank Redemption if you'd consider that a 90s classic?
Dean Scott at 2014-04-11 10:06:04:
Or maybe do a combined post on Shawshank and The Green Mile?
Scott at 2014-04-11 12:17:52:
Excellent, Jonathan. Like you, I could watch that movie forever.
Scott at 2014-04-11 12:18:44:
Dean, The Shawshank Redemption would be great. Sitting atop the IMDB Top 250 poll, it deserves its own post. Thanks!
David Germinario at 2014-04-11 12:38:49:
Scott, I'd really like to do a write-up of Se7en. One of the best detectives vs serial killer movies ever.
Scott at 2014-04-11 13:04:15:
David, it's yours. And you're right: Terrific movie.
Ashley Cook at 2014-04-11 16:11:18:
Hi Scott, could I please do a post about There's Something About Mary? It's one of my favorite 90s comedies :)
Adrian Jane Patenaude at 2014-04-11 19:45:13:
I'd love to write about You've Got Mail! Favorite rom-com of all time.
pgronk at 2014-04-11 21:23:56:
Scott, Confidentially, I'd like to do a write up on "L.A. Confidential".
Scott at 2014-04-11 21:55:12:
Sure, Adrian. You've Got Mail it is.
Scott at 2014-04-11 21:56:26:
Great call, Ashley. I can still remember one of my agents at CAA calling me into his office before a meeting to see the infamous 'hair gel' scene on an early cut he had before the movie came out. That movie created so much buzz. Look forward to reading your overview.
Scott at 2014-04-11 21:57:07:
Great! L.A. Confidential a really great stylish crime-drama.
suebeesuebeesue at 2014-04-11 23:28:35:
Hi Scott, could I write about Trainspotting for you? Thanks Sue
Scott at 2014-04-11 23:47:24:
Sue, that would be wonderful. An excellent movie and good to see an international film get some recognition. Would like to see more in our list!
morleywritten at 2014-04-12 10:27:04:
Hi Scott! :) I would love to do a write up on "Groundhog Day." Kathryn
Scott at 2014-04-12 15:29:37:
You've got it, Kathryn. Groundhog Day is yours!
Scott W. Doyle at 2014-04-13 02:11:56:
Scott, I'd love to do "Insomnia" -- the Swedish original starring Stellan Skarsgard (aside from Robin Williams's creepy turn, I didn't think much of Nolan's adaptation).
Scott at 2014-04-13 02:26:25:
Great call, Scott. Go for it. A nifty foreign language film.
sylvrtortus at 2014-04-13 09:46:09:
May I please do Terminator 2 please Mr. Scott
Scott at 2014-04-13 10:36:11:
Excellent. An interesting set of plot and character twists in the sequel provided by Cameron. It's all yours!
writerhaha at 2014-04-13 12:42:54:
Scott, Can I Do "Home Alone?"
Scott at 2014-04-13 12:53:34:
Right at the beginning of the decades (1990). Sure! One of the best pure high concepts I've ever seen... and executed so well.
mcorcoran15 at 2014-04-15 22:17:05:
Hey Scott! I'd like to do the movie that inspired me to write, Good Will Hunting.
Scott at 2014-04-15 22:28:25:
mcorcoran15, rather shocked no one picked that already, so yes, it's all yours!
Abdullah AL-Twaijri at 2014-04-15 22:36:08:
Hi Scott , i would like to pick Jurassic Park .
Scott at 2014-04-15 22:44:04:
Another one I'm surprised hasn't been taken. Abdullah, Jurassic Park is waiting for you!
Dakota Proctor at 2014-04-16 01:44:34:
Scott, Could I do Clerks?
Scott at 2014-04-16 03:03:13:
Dakota, if you did Clerks, that would be terrific. A great call as it not only launched Kevin Smith's career, it also inspired a zillion other young filmmakers to think they could make a super low-budget movie themselves. Thanks!
ipatrickj at 2014-04-16 06:41:39:
Hi Scott! I would like to cover Death Becomes Her if there's an open spot yet!
Scott at 2014-04-16 12:29:49:
ipatrickj, go for it. It's an interesting choice and reminds me how great Meryl Streep is as a comic actor. Wish she did more!
rowdyfarfar15 at 2014-04-19 13:13:42:
Hey Scott, I'd love to write about Boogie Nights if that's okay. Also, if you don't get to your goal of 31, I'd also like to write about In The Name Of The Father (I thought I'd pick an Irish film too considering I'm Irish).
Scott at 2014-04-19 14:10:09:
Boogies Nights is all yours. Definitely need a PTA film and that's a great one.
AnnetaK at 2014-04-19 14:24:34:
Hey Scott, can't believe no one's claimed a Tarantino yet! Would love to do a post on Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction if you're still looking for writers.
Scott at 2014-04-19 14:41:20:
Holy crap, you're right! Which would you prefer: RD or PF? Your call.
AnnetaK at 2014-04-19 14:58:00:
Let's do PF!
