My prayer pick? Jonah Hill's appeal for mercy to Korean Jesus in 21 Jump Street. Schmidt (Jonah Hill): Hey, Korean Jesus... I don't know if you only cater to Korean Christians or if you even exist ...no offense... I just, uh... I'm really freaked out about going back to high school. It was just so fucking hard the first time. I know we haven't made our first arrest, and maybe I'm not the best cop... Korean Jesus, I just really don't want to fuck this up. But also, if you use a Korean Church in your movie, someone's got to pray to Korean Jesus.

Maybe a tie-in with the character archetypes and scenes that explicitly show their functions. *Protagonist stating his goal *Nemesis blocking the protagonist *Mentor... well, mentoring. *Attractor... attracting the protagonist *Trickster... Scenes where the character's function is very, very explicit.

Life of Pi (2012) Written by : David Magee (Screenplay) INT. CATHOLIC CHURCH, MUNNAR, 1973 - DAY 41 Pi stands quizzing the priest near the altar. PI: If God is so perfect and we're not, why would He want to create all this? Why does He need us at all? PRIEST: All you have to know is that He loves us. “God so loved the world that He gave His only Son.” This Son taught us to love one another... The priest's words continue as Pi leans in, listening. ADULT PI (V.O.): The more I listened to the priest, the more I came to like this Son of God. INT. PI'S BEDROOM, 1973 - DAY Pi kneels, smiling, in an attitude of worship. PONDICHERRY MOSQUE, 1973 - DAY The speaker on top of the mosque plays the Muslim call to prayer. INT. PI FAMILY HOME, 1973 - DAY Pi is out in front of the house kneeling on a prayer mat, repeating a prayer. Father passes by with friends. He stops to watch Pi. INT. FAMILY KITCHEN/DINING ROOM, 1973 - DUSK Father sits at the dinner table with his family. The servant offers a dish of lamb to Father only. Father pops a bite into his mouth, savoring it. FATHER: This lamb is exquisite - it's best dish on the table. You are all missing out... As he chews, Father notices Pi completing a blessing. FATHER (CONT'D) You only need to convert to three more religions, Piscine, and you will spend your life on holiday. Takeaway: This entire story, about a boy who's lost everything, alone and shipwrecked with a tiger is entrenched in spirituality and his personal discovery that even in the most Godless circumstances that God does indeed 'exist'.
