Markham's short may only be eight minutes in length (it felt longer), but it is a wonderful example of everything that a character driven story should be. Eight minutes, and we feel that we live in the protagonist's world, full of internalized conflict and tension. I can only hope that he gets his chance to bring his craft to a larger stage.
