Would be VERY interested to see what "theme" Alex Garland was trying to express in the "28 Days Later." I remember reading, in an article of "Creative Screenwriting," I think, George Romero said he was trying to express a theme in his zombie movies. Personally, I think that's a stretch. BUT I'm open to here the pro's weigh in.
