Just about every major star out there has had at least one movie that hasn't performed to expectations ... Sandler's I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK AND LARRY tanked big time, and I remember watching the trailer when it came out, thinking, that's a good idea for a movie (I found out that Paul Hogan did an identical one a few years earlier in Australia) but the reviews showed that it was bad ...

For me, the most important thing a story (and movie) is that it has to move me ... I need to feel something, thrills, laughter, sorrow, fear, anger or something even more than that ... a film doesn't always need to make sense or even be unique if it affects me on an emotional level consistently throughout ...

Just my opinion, of course ... LOL!

"The Assasination of Jesse James". Not even Mr Pitt could keep me awake.

Story is king. You need a great story, THEN you staff it with stars.

"The Love Guru" suffered from an excessive devotion to Mike Myers and gross-out humor. The hockey player love story needed to be played out and explored more, like what happened in "The 40 Year Old Virgin." And Justin Timberlake's character needed to be axed alltogether.
