This is why you’re the best, Scott. I already have True Detective up there with Breaking Bad and The Wire as some of the best television shows of all time. McConaughey is killing it. I saw that you tweeted after the incredible Ep. 3 ending that Nic Pizolatto should just get the emmy now. Agreed. For those who may want to explore some of the literary inspirations associated with this series, Nic Pizolatto discusses some of the stuff he’s read and been influenced by in this WSJ Blog writeup: http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2014/02/02/writer-nic-pizzolatto-on-thomas-ligotti-and-the-weird-secrets-of-true-detective/ I got the Kindle version of Thomas Ligotti’s THE CONSPIRACY AGAINST THE HUMAN RACE and so far it’s an interesting read. Some ideas from this book definitely made it into Rust Cohle’s dialogue. Hey Scott – do you know if HBO or Nic will ever make these scripts available to read? Any thoughts on how to get a copy?
