The only somewhat nice portrayal of a dentist I can remember is Matthew Perry in "The Whole Nine Yards" He's in a hideous marriage and gets in trouble with the Mafia. I don't remember well, but I think he has his moments of sarcasm against patients, so... maybe he's not that nice.
