This was just on IFC a few nights ago. I haven't seen it in probably ten years. As bad as it portrays Hollywood, I can only imagine it's ten times worse now.

Try watching this as a double feature with "Swimming with Sharks" and THEN see how motivated you are to write FADE IN.

Actually, as brutal as Michael Tolken's vision is, it's nothing against the fiction of Bruce Wagner. Give his trilogy of books "I'm Losing You," "I'll Let You Go," and "Still Holding" a read. Besides being a great craftsman of prose, his take on L.A. is both prescient and horrifying.
