I really thank you for all these information. I’d say that I partly know common rules about screenwriter’s salary (e.g. WGA website) and some spec script sales. By the way I know that script’s cost depends on some things like “film budget”, “writer’s experience”, “script’s quality” and the other conditions. Despite I know these but i have a question and I’ll be appreciated much to answer me; could you name and list some “script sales in horror genre” since last decade? please note average sales not only top sales. thanks again Scott

Hamid, there aren't a lot of horror specs that sell, at least for significant money in large part due to how Hollywood tends to treat that genre nowadays and frankly for quite some time: Most horror movies are on the low-budget side (from a studio perspective, let's call that $20M and under). In fact, the only horror spec I can recall that sold for big bucks was in 2011, a script called Grim Night, high six-figures against seven. As far as digging down into that information, you're more than welcome to go through each list and simply do a word search: "horror". That will highlight each of the specs in that genre that sold that year.
