That's quite possibly the best snap ever. I snap and give up for a month (big mistake, huge). Next time I'll just keep writing a giant freak out in the middle of a scene. Just keep writing. Just keep writing. La la la la la LA LA LA LAAAAAAAAAA...

Ah, that familiar feeling... :) I usually find if I go back through the story, I can find the point where I started to paint myself into a corner, and make a different decision there. And it's usually not that far back...

Sometimes it feels like there's not enough conflict in the characters of the scene. Usually I go for this: dig the characters, dig up their friends, and moms, and dads, etc. True to life, though :)

Well I'll tell you one thing I DON'T do, I don't go barrelling into my movie with my schlong flapping about! ;) In all seriousness, my favorite medicine for this ailment is to just watch movies. Hit the theaters or hit my DVD rack. Watch as many as it takes to get re-inspired and remind me why I chose this outrageous lifestyle in the first place. But if at any time that doesn't work perhaps I WILL streak through a few of my scenes!

I actually did almost exactly that. Stuck all my characters in a room and let them bitch about having been left in limbo. One character, killed off early, was resentful that he even had to be there, being dead and all. Others speculated as to why the writer left them there. Basically was a big group therapy session for them, where the absent writer was the focus of all their conversations.
