Well, Mr Scott Myers, if that really is your name... Love Dr Strangelove....just great writing, satire and characters and some great lines......one of my favourites from any film has to be: "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here. This is the war room." - utterly superb satirical nonsense. Strangelove was one of those films I was "made" to watch when I was a kid (see also 2001: A Space Odyssey) and didn't really "get" it at the time, but it stuck with me....and it is one you keep coming back to over the years, learning more from it each time you watch... much like all of Kubrick's films... and before you realise it you are in love with a classic. One of the first two DVDs I bought back in the late 90s, I think I need to go and look for a copy on Blu Ray....might go down well in a double feature with the more "realistic" (debateable) Fail Safe, which was also 1964.... I just checked when Fail Safe was released in relation to Strangelove and IMDB throws up this interesting nugget: Columbia Pictures produced both this movie and Dr. Strangelove: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964). Director Stanley Kubrick insisted his movie be released first, and it was, in January 1964. When Fail-Safe (1964) was released, it garnered excellent reviews, but audiences found it unintentionally funny because of "Strangelove", and stayed away. Henry Fonda later said he would never have made this movie if he had seen "Strangelove" first, because he would have laughed too.
