In nearly 25 years of whittling away at the screenwriting stick, this post reflects one of the greatest truisms I've learned of this craft. You will fail far more than you will succeed. In fact, the ratio could very well be somewhere around 80/20 in failure's favor. (er, on a good day, that is.) And, as this post suggests, you'd better learn to love the failures because they ultimately are indeed your closest friends and confidants. They will nudge and cajole your script to life. Currently toiling on my latest failure as we speak...back to work!
