Hi. Yes, a common issue at several screenwriters workshops I've attended is how some writers (including me in my first scripts, TBH) avoid conflict and try to be nice to their characters. They get them in a tree but make everything possible to help them, not throwing rocks at them. Is it because we want to be perceived as good folks and we are afraid they'll tell us "why did you do this to them?"
