What’s Robert Towne’s input to that scene? Always thought he wrote it…

I love this scene. It's Vito giving advice even as he understands he has already passed control to his son...and, in a way, letting Michael know his own son will one day maybe surpass him. It also feels like the last of a triptych: first Michael takes control by taking his father out of harm's way in the hospital; then Vito calls the meeting to say Michael has his backing; and then this final scene before he does. Great writing.
