I suppose that I am Thankful for my bumpy past, continued military service, world travels, and every single day of this life I'm living. The rich facets of my unwealthy though privileged life are what drive me, and fire my creative furnaces. Every character and scene is in some small way a piece of the overall me, inspired indirectly by experience. Man, we're the creators of worlds - what's not to be Thankful for.

To be honest, having been lost a few times in my writing journey, I wasn't always thankful in the past to be a writer... and sometimes found the journey quite frustrating. Because even though I had these ideas that had potential, I didn't know how and if I could pull through and the fact that I was trying and failing again and again truthfully made me feel like crap, many a time. That said, now I just can't imagine doing anything else. In my opinion, there's no better more innately rewarding job than writing about someone or something and being humbled and bringing them into existence through words. I can't imagine doing anything else now and sometimes wonder what life was like before that... almost the same in a way as having kids, and all the ups and downs, and not being able to imagine the before and how I LIVED without that experience. So like Rod put it very well - what's not to be thankful for? Honestly, what's life without writing for us writers?

I'm a little late, but I certainly have much to be thankful for: for starters, YOU! This blog! Secondly, I'm a little crazy and weird and my imagination gets the best of me... which is definitely a good thing in this arena :)
