Sargent: "...Pure gold, a product of that pure part of you that does not know how to resist.” Myers: "...if we can get beyond the chatter of our conscious world, we will be able to ride waves of inspiration throughout the story-crafting process..." Call, response, and say amen! In addition to the lucre of the imagination, this is also where the fun, the pure joy of writing also hangs out, surfboard tucked under its arm. Earlier today, as well, over on Facebook, the Joseph Campbell Foundation posted this quote from JC: “I think a good way to conceive of sacred space is as a playground. If what you’re doing seems like play, you are in it...Everything is of the moment.” Yet another call back to the "writing in the moment" thread you've been weaving on GITS of late... All just great, great stuff!

John, thanks for the Campbell quote. And that just feels very much in the spirit of what Alvin Sargent is saying: You've got to be willing to take a playful approach, even if intentional, to get at the pure part of yourself.
