I think that Dana Barrett is a great Attractor archetype for Peter Venkman. She is strong and independent. Venkman is used to getting his way with women, as evidenced in the second scene in the movie.
Dana resists his charm, giving Venkman his first challenge to get the girl. When she gets possessed, Venkman is literally offered sex by the possessed Dana. Venkman knows the quest to win her over is more important than the easy road to what he wants.
