I've somehow never managed to see this movie, Barbara, although I'm aware of its existence. I must seek it out. I think Michael Palin is a vastly underrated actor.

I'm the same Lydia....it is one of those films that was on at Christmas when I was a kid, and I never watched it....always felt like something I didn't want to watch....but I would only have been about 11 then so what would I know!? Great choice Barbara, thanks for writing - I can see my "list of films I should have watched" is going to probably increase by 1.....mine will probably be the onyl one I have seen!

Haven't seen "The Missionary." Nor have I seen "Missionary Man" 2007, directed by and staring Dolph Lundgren, perhaps not gem quality. Howsomever, I have seen the Eurythmics video for their 1986 hit "Missionary Man" wherein Annie Lennox is as always a gem. These three, with same or similar title, are worlds apart.
