Is a treatment the same as what is known as a bible in TV land? The bible contains the personality, backstory, wants, needs, trauma's, etc.. everything that is relevant to get to know your character well. Do you incorporate your travel experience into your writing? Is it set in South America, or are there any characters you met in real life on your trips.

I've never written a TV bible, so can't really speak to the bible v. protagonist treatment, but my understanding is that a bible is more inclusive? In our treatment, Scott simply had us focus on the protagonist's journey, especially the central (external) want and underlying need, often unconscious. In the story I'm writing for the Quest, I'm not incorporating our travels in the plot, although I often wish the story was set up for that. But I am basing an ancillary character on someone we've recently met while traveling!
