Badlands is one of my all-time favourite movies, and my second-favourite Malick film after Days of Heaven. I love the scene at the end where Kit is passing out his lighter, etc. as souvenirs to the cops, who all adore him (apparently the real killer that the character is based on did this too). His giant ego and vanity make him such a memorable and loveable villain. You can really see how a fifteen-year-old would fall for him--not an easy feat!
