Theme is the meaning of our story - but maybe more importantly, it's also the 'meaning' of our protagonist's character arc. It's the meaning that the protagonist themselves find on their journey that will stick with the audience...

As noted earlier this week, I think theme is about emotional truth or a moral for a given story. Does that also relate the meaning? I suppose the word theme could be interchanged for meaning of the story. The take-away of the story is what it speaks to - that emotional truth or moral and that could be the meaning. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the connection between theme and meaning, Scott. If there is a difference it must be subtle. Or am I completely wrong on that?
