Nicely put Troy and Scott. I'm beginning to think the Aha! moment has a Duh! counterpoint moment. I did all my learning in lit-rah-chure during the Deconstruction era, which boiled down to a statement that the author doesn't matter -- just the work. That's gone through a tremendous shift with self-publishing, but it still holds true in screenwriting. It isn't about you, it's about the story. Make it sing. Thanks for the Duh! reminder.
